Mindfull Of Sensitivity ???

Let the taste of IceCream or sip of Coffee not make you wince ever again.

#Sensitivity of tooth is a sign that indicates your teeth needs immediate Attention

Each and every tooth of ours has a protective layer over it called Enamel.

Fact: Enamel is the hardest structure of the body, harder than bone.

Sensitivity occurs when this enamel layer is affected by Dental Caries,chipping/cracking  from trauma, aggressive brushing, grinding of teeth(bruxism),or too much consumption of aerated drinks, gum recession  from gum disease.

How Can I prevent Tooth Sensitivity?

*Good Oral hygiene is the best defense against  any dental problem

*Use a soft bristles tooth brush and do a gentle brushing for 2mins twice a day

*Replace your toothbrush every 3months,as frayed tooth bristles lead to ineffective brushing  and affects the gums too

*clean inbetween the teeth with dental floss(never use toothpick)

*wear a teeth night guard in case of bruxism

*Avoid aerated drinks as they erode away the enamel

Could Teeth Sensitivity be Treated?

Sensitivity of teeth could be easily treated. The treatment varies from simple solution of using a desensitizing toothpaste, in-office application of fluoride varnish/desensitizer,fillings, onlay ,to wearing a dental crown.

Tips to Manage Sensitivity

  • Swirl and keep your tongue over the sensitive teeth, the saliva and tongue serve as Thermal insulators and give relief from sensitivity.
  • Apply a small amount of desensitizing tooth paste over the affected teeth, leave it for 3minutes and brush with a soft bristles tooth brush
  • Use Fluoridated mouth wash.

However these tips are suggested only for a symptomatic relief and are not solution.
